The Globetrotter Bundle Original

I really do enjoy this backpack! Convenient and easy to use. Even after having travelled with it several times I'm still finding new pockets and ways to use the backpack and its parts. That's great!

I was questioning what bundle to buy, so for those other people looking for an estimate, this is how I have used the backpack and its parts in the past months:

2 weeks of travel (train) with several destinations and types of outfits:
The backpack + cube + small backpack attached. This kept all my stuff, inkluding a large work computer and 2 seeks of the (small) dog's food, snacks, etc.

1 week of travel (train) for work with several destinations:
The backpack + small backpack attached. This kept my large work computer, conference clothing and snacks for the ride on the night train.

1 overnight stay (train) for work:
The backpack and nothing else. Here the main backpack really proved its diversity. By simply keeping my computer and clothes for the next day, the top rolled down and kept the backpack small and easy to handle without it feeling bulky.

Things I have not used:
The rain cover. It's too bulky to carry for the types of travels I do (mainly by train, not a lot of walking outside)
The cube inlay. I don't really see the use of this, when not used for a camera. For me it just takes up space and adds weight.
The sling combo. I feel as if this could be usefull some time, but I am yet to find a purpose for this / use it :)

I'm a big fan of the packing cubes - somehting I never knew I needed before this backpack. And I now use them every time I travel.

All in all: I'm very happy with my puchace and I smile every time I pull out the bag and start configuring it for the upcoming travels. This is now my main travel bag - all other travel bags are now in the basement storage unit and I am yet to find a trip where this bag will not be the most convenient choice :)

Also: for those who have breast. The front strap can be adjusted to sit anywhere, meaning that it is easy to place conveniently, without making 2 **** into 4. The only isue I have with this is that the strap has a tendensy to 'crawl upwards' while I walk, meaning that I keep having to pull it down, to keep it from crawling too close to my neck. This is uncomfortable. I have thought about putting in a stich to keep them in place, but due to its different placement depending on if the cube is on or not, then this will just create another problem. Anyone who have found a smart solution for this problem?

Bisher super zufrieden. Schön verarbeiteter Rucksack. Bin gespannt, wie sich das Bundle auf einer längeren Reise macht. Für den täglichen Gebrauch in jedem Fall sehr praktisch. Das Manual finde ich sehr hilfreich, um den Rucksack optimal zu nutzen.

Use it every day as my default backpack, like that I can also use it as a hiking backpack.

Mein absolutes Highlight ist, dass man ihn öffnen kann wie einen Koffer und nicht dauernd von oben im Rucksack herumwühlen muss.
Im Cube hat meine Kamera endlich den perfekten Platz im Gepäck. Außerdem bleibt der Rucksack durch den Cube auch einfach mal stehen und fällt nicht dauernd um.
Und wie perfekt ist es, dass man ihn easy zum Tagesrucksack umfunktionieren kann? Sonst hab ich mir immer noch extra einen einpacken müssen.
Mit ein bisschen Übung klappt es inzwischen auch mit dem Umbau und den Reißverschlüssen recht schnell;)
Schlau sind auch die schnell zugänglichen seitlichen Fächer für den Geldbeutel/ Handy und das Laptop.
Endlich hab ich beim Reisen mal die Hände frei und alles hat seinen Platz!
Ich bin super zufrieden, da hat sich jemand echt einfach mal was gedacht!
Ich habe so lange nach einem solch durchdachten Gepäckstück gesucht…und dann ist das Teil auch noch aus recycelten Materialien…Sachen gibt’s!!

Für größtmögliche Vielseitigkeit habe ich mich für das Globetrotter Bundle entschieden und bin begeistert.Die Beschreibung trifft voll und ganz zu - alle Teile sind sowohl sehr gut kombinierbar als auch einzeln nutzbar.

Wirklich ein Gepäck-Set für alle Gelegenheiten und dadurch den Preis wert, denn letztendlich bekommt man vier Gepäckstücke.

Die Möglichkeit, mehrere Teile zu einem größeren Gepäckstück zu kombinieren ist das was mir am besten gefällt.
Dazu die vielen Kleinigkeiten: die Reißverschlüsse um schneller an den Inhalt zu gelangen, die gut greifbaren Griffe der Reißverschlüsse, die vielen Innentaschen, die unterschiedlichen Funktionen der Riemen - alles unglaublich gut durchdacht.

Ich mag vor allem, dass ich an jede Rucksack-Variante einen Hüftgurt anbringen kann, denn das habe ich oft bei „Stadtrucksäcken“ vermisst.

Neulich habe ich es sehr geschätzt, dass der Rucksack im Vergleich zu anderen relativ schmal ist und deshalb gut in die Gepäckablage im ICE und auch in ein Gepäckschließfach passt.

Nur die Befestigung des kleinen Rucksacks am großen Rucksack mit dem Mat Strap kam mir etwas zu locker bzw. instabil vor (oder ich habe es falsch gemacht), da habe ich dann einfach den Sling Shoulder Strap zur Verstärkung benutzt - hat super funktioniert, nur hat er mir dann als Umhängeriemen gefehlt. Nun werde ich mir einfach noch einen bestellen.

Danke für die viele Zeit, Arbeit und Liebe zum Detail, die in den Rucksäcken stecken. Ich finde es hat sich gelohnt.

Very happy with this high quality backpack. My camera gear fits well in the lowest compartment and is easy to detach as a separate bag. Some pockets are quite small, but there are enough te find a fitting one

I am totally happy. Looking forward to the travellings I will have.

I bought the Globetrotter Bundle Original a couple of weeks ago. So far, I used the Day Pack Original and the Sling Combo for commuting to uni. The cube has been taken over by my camera ;)
The Day Pack Original fits my laptop, folder, the odd book + washbag, change of clothes (the packing cubes are brilliant), and nicer shoes for teaching. So everything I need. The Sling can be used as a tote bag for carrying things between my office and the classroom/coffeeshop.

The modularity is, of course, great. All backpacks/bags are sturdy and well made, as well as quite waterproof. I had to walk through heavy rain (with the rain cover for the backpack) and everything in the Sling (and the backpack) was kept dry. The material looks really nice, too, a bit like linen.
All in all, the Globetrotter Bundle Original is extremely versatile and incredibly well thought out. All straps can be hidden in small ‘pockets’ (it took a while to notice the two straps in the top). Most pockets are constructed in a way that should make pickpocketing somewhat difficult if not impossible. The suitcase-style opening is probably one of the best features, as it makes access easier (while you can still start your digging expeditions through the top opening). The internal organiser and separate bottom compartment for shoes etc. are also brilliant features.
However, the Day Pack Original is rather heavy with the padded back and straps, but they do add comfort! The Original is also a bit big for someone small like me, but I didn’t want to compromise on space. If that’s ok for you, really consider the Compact size.

The price is, of course, rather dear and there are many cheaper options. A second-hand option might be great for those on a smaller budget (maybe an idea for the future). But: the price is more than justified. Sustainability cannot be cheap, and a small start-up cannot produce in such high quantities that it would lower the price. That aside, you are getting a top-quality product, well thought out and versatile.
A longer strap for the Sling would be great (or some extension solution), so that the top can still be rolled even if you have to fill it just a bit more. More colours would be great too, as sand is too bright (for me, but looks best) and black too dark (which I bought). Hopefully you can expand here in the future 😉
One question: what is your experience with using the Day Pack and/or Travel Backpack as cabin luggage? I will be flying with EasyJet and the Travel Backpack would be too high (without the cube it’s grand). Of course, thanks to the modularity I can remove the cube and put it under the seat with the Sling Combo.
