The WayksOne Travel Bundle consists of 13 modular parts + 5 accessories.

A sturdy zipper runs around the bottom of the Day Pack enabling the Cube to be attached. The Travel Backpack can be transformed into a smaller Day Pack by zipping off the Cube and attaching the Bottom Cover.

Remove the Back Panel and replace the Padded Shoulder Straps with the Simple Straps to turn the Day Pack into a lighter version (when only carrying some essentials).

To wear the Cube as a standalone bag, remove the Hip Belt and attach the Cube Shoulder Strap. Attach the Waist Belt to the Day Pack to prevent movement during outdoor activities like cycling or skiing.

The majority of our materials are made from recycled PET bottles. We use a PFC-free, environmentally friendly water-repellency coating on our fabrics.

The difference between our fabrics is mainly in the look and feel. Our first fabric (Black and Sand variants) has a rather natural, canvas-like look. It feels thinner.

In the Sleek Black variant, the fabric has a smooth look. It feels a little thicker and rubbery.

The Sleek Black is a little easier to clean due to its smooth texture and water rolls off more easily - on the other hand, it is more prone to superficial scratches and dents or cuts, which remain visible in the long term on such smooth fabrics.

As far as protecting the contents of the backpack from moisture is concerned, there is no difference between the two versions, as both fabrics are waterproof. It is always important to remember that after prolonged exposure to heavy rain, moisture can seep through the seams and zips of backpacks. Therefore, we recommend using the Rain & Luggage Cover in such cases.

Does the sand colour get dirty easily?
No, it does not stain easily, however, dark stains are more visible than on the black version. Good to clean. Fine for everyday use. Attach rain cover when exposed to heavy rain, dirt, oil or dust. (read more)

Great set of versatile high quality bags for a minimalist & adventurous lifestyle

Great set of bags, exceeding my expectations. I bought the Original Bundle in sand-colour. The colour is nice and the fabric sturdy, had a few stains but so far it's easy to clean with a tooth-brush and some mild soapy water. The straps are quite 'shiny' due to the material and I like that - gives the bag a bit more a chic and hip vibe as opposed to 'outdoorsy'.

The Day Pack Original incl. packing cubes are great - it easily fits all my (winter) clothes (3x pants, 2x wool jumper, underwear, socks, toiletries and an extra pair of shoes for a trip of a few weeks - and then I haven't even used the cube attachment. The day pack original (excl cube) is allowed as carry-on luggage - at least I had no issues on a Vueling flight.

The cube seems handy but haven't used it so far - will do so on long hikes in the mountains this summer. Love that the bags stays easily upright when the cube is attached. The orange rain-cover fits nice and snug around the Day Pack and Cube - if you detach the cube there's some room left in the cover still but can be easily filled up with clothes, towels..

The day pack mini, which came with the bundle set, is great and very comfortable. The strap across the chest comes in handy when there's heavy things in the bag - makes wearing it easier on your back-muscles.
It easily fits my laptop, cables, keyboard, mouse, waterbottle, raincoat and then there's room still. I love the roll-top which is handy on those days where you wear layers and it get's hot - it makes it possible to fit a normal sized jacked on top of the things you are already carrying.

As for the sling combo, I've only used it as a mini- daypack so far so not yet as a sling. I'm using the sling mini bag as a purse including the rope/cord - so I wear it more like a crossbody tiny bag. If you wear either the sling bag or the daypack mini on your back it's very useful to have the purse like that, means you don't have to take off the backpack to get to your coins, cards, mobile phone, chapstick, passport, swiss knife (all of this together fits in the sling mini!). I love the idea that it transforms into a hip bag but haven't used it like that yet.

All-in-all the Original Bundle gives me a lot of options for all kinds of situations, on a long travel, weekend away, hike, citytrip..I love that.

I hope the bags last as long as I live, or that whenever a piece breaks down I can re-order it and fix the bag myself - because for a minimalist lifestyle these bags are just perfect.

The Travel Bundle Original

Ein absolut durchdachter Rucksack

Nach mehr maligen benutzen kann ich nur volle Sterne geben. Er macht wirklich Spaß. Das Packen wird einem leicht gemacht und man hat zu allem schnell Zugriff. Das Materiel fühlt sich sehr wertig und gut an. Er lässt sich super auf die Körpergröße einstellen und macht das tragen leicht. Ein Rucksack für viele viele verschieden Bedürfnisse.

Umfassende Modularität mit etwas zu viel Kompromiss?

Nach 2 Monaten Nutzung kann ich noch keinen abschliessenden Bericht geben, aber hier sind ein paar erste Eindrücke.

Positif:
Der Rucksack sieht in echt genauso toll aus wie auf den Bildern und ich habe wirklich Freude daran. Die Modularität, die er verspricht, kann er tatsächlich einhalten. Das gross Rolltop erlaubt viel Stauraum und auch den Zugang im Kofferstyle brauche ich viel.

Zu verbessern:
- Der Zugang zum Laptopfach von der Seite ist etwas zu klein für mein 15.6 Zoll Laptop, der aber ohne Probleme vom Zugang über Hauptfach im Laptopfach platz hat.

- Das Einstellen des Rucksacks mit den verschiedenen Gurten auf meine Rückengrösse (173cm) funktioniert mit dem Cube gut eigentlich gut. Jedoch ist mir das Padding des Hüftgurts auf beiden Seiten um wenige Zentimeter zu kurz! Es deckt einfach meinen Hüftknochen nicht vollständig. Dies kreiert eine unangenehme harte Kante, die etwas in die Haut einschneidet. Im Vergleich zu meinem alten Wanderrucksack fehlen da ein paar Zentimeter. Schade.
Ausserdem gelingt es mir ohne Cube, die Gurte nicht so richtig bequem einzustellen. Ich bin jemand, der immer viel Gewicht dabei hat (2,5kg Laptop, Wasserflasche, Proviant, etc.) und deswegen war es mir wichtig einen Rucksack mit Hüftgurt zu finden, da ich oft lange unterwegs bin. Klar gebt ihr an, dass der Hüftgurt dann zu einem "Waist Belt" wird, aber mir ist der einfach viel zu hoch, um wirklich angenehm das Gewicht zu verteilen und meine Schultern zu entlasten. Dabei habe ich die Schultergurte schon auf der höchsten Stufe.

- Apropos Gewicht: Ich habe nirgends eine Gewichtsempfehlung gesehen. Mir ist es jetzt schon mehrmals passiert, dass der Rucksack voll beladen (mit Cube) ziemlich schwer wird (geschätzt 13-18 kg) und ich habe dann das Gefühl, dass er nicht für dieses Gewicht ausgelegt ist. Der eine Schultergurt lässt bei der Naht schon etwas nach und auch der Übergang vom Cube zum richtigen Rucksack scheint etwas wackelig, was natürlich in der Natur der Modularität liegt. Vielleicht hätte man da in der Kommunikation auf ein "Maximalgewicht" hinweisen können. Vielleicht habe ich zu hohe Ansprüche aber die 45L laden halt zum voll Packen ein! Und ich habe den Rucksack deswegen gekauft.

- Das Leergewicht des Rucksacks hat mich etwas überrascht. Klar sind 1.5 kg respektive 2.4 kg mit Cube nicht viel. Aber als ich ihn das erste Mal angezogen habe, schien er mir doch etwas schwerer als erwartet. Ich glaube ich hätte da in der Kommunikation nicht den Ausdruck "Lightweight Backpack" verwendet. Klar gibt es auf dem Markt wenig vergleichbare Modelle, mit dieser Modularität aber es gibt einige 30L Daypacks Modelle, welche doch unter 37,5g pro Liter kommen.
Da ich immer Gewicht dabei habe, ist die "Day Pack Version" ohne Padding für mich keine Option.

Fazit: Das klingt jetzt vielleicht nach viel Kritik, manches ist aber "Meckern auf hohem Niveau" oder einfach meine persönliche Nutzung. Insgesamt bin ich zufrieden, ich hätte mir für diesen Preis einfach etwas mehr Qualität und Verlässlichkeit gewünscht. Ich bin gespannt wie er sich über die Jahre hält.

Bezüglich des seitlichen Zugangs zum Laptopfach: Wenn dein Laptop nicht breiter oder länger als ein MacBook Pro 16' ist, solltest du den seitlichen Reißverschluss nutzen können. Ein kleiner Tipp: Schiebe zuerst die obere Hälfte des Laptops hinein, neige ihn leicht, schiebe ihn nach oben und dann die untere Hälfte hinein. Beim Herausnehmen einfach die Schritte umkehren. Es kann anfangs ein bisschen kniffelig sein, sollte aber mit der Zeit leichter werden.

Es tut uns leid zu hören, dass der Waist Belt des Day Packs nicht ideal für deine Bedürfnisse ist. Er wurde so konzipiert, dass er ohne den gepolsterten Hüftgurt verwendet werden kann, und dient eher zur Stabilisierung als zur Gewichtsübertragung. Für schwerere Lasten oder längeres Tragen ist der gepolsterte Hüftgurt mit dem Cube die bessere Wahl für mehr Komfort.

Was das Gewicht angeht, hast du vollkommen recht, dass die starre Struktur des Cubes und des Back Panels etwas zusätzliches Eigengewicht mit sich bringt. Diese Designentscheidung haben wir getroffen, weil sich dadurch die Gewichtsverteilung und -übertragung auf den Hüftgurt verbessert, wenn der Rucksack beladen ist, sodass das höhere Gewicht letztlich mehr Tragekomfort bietet. Wir bezeichnen den Travel Backpack selbst nicht als „Lightweight“, sondern nur den 'Light Day Pack' in der Konfiguration ohne Rückenpolster und gepolsterte Schultergurte. Falls dir aufgefallen ist, dass der Travel Backpack an einer bestimmten Stelle als besonderes Leichtgewicht angepriesen wird, wären wir dir über einen Hinweis dankbar, damit wir uns darum kümmern können.

Was die von die angesprochene Naht am Schultergurt angeht, würden wir uns das gerne genauer ansehen. Auch bei intensiver Nutzung und hohem Ladegewicht sollten die Nähte keine Probleme bereiten.
